Culture & Activities
Hi y’all! My name is Bella Santos and I am ecstatic to be the Culture & Activities lead for the 2019-2020 HEAL team. I am a track 2 sophomore, originally from the Bay Area. When I’m not in clinical, lecture, or studying for exams, you can find me surfing or tanning at the beach, at my favorite coffee shop with an iced latte, scrolling through Pinterest, or taking and editing photos. I am so fortunate to have this opportunity to travel to Thailand an provide medical outreach for those most in need. As the Culture & Activities lead, I am excited to teach members of HEAL everything there is to know about Thai culture so we can be prepared for our brigade. From Thai food, a personal favorite, to Thai customs and practices, I will make sure everyone is well informed prior to takeoff. From the time I found out about HEAL and the Thailand brigade, I have been looking forward to being a part of the organization and making a lasting difference in the lives of Thai people. I am looking forward to gaining experience in nursing assessment and care, as well as forming new relationships with some amazing individuals. I can’t wait to embark on this journey and I am so thankful to have this opportunity.
